At Stage & Mind Psychology, I offer psychological services tailored to the individual — whether you're looking for support with your mental health, seeking a better understanding of yourself, or looking for ways to support wellbeing within an arts, education or creative environment.
Psychological therapy provides a space to talk through the things you're experiencing with a qualified psychologist in a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment.
I work with people experiencing a range of concerns, including:
anxiety and stress
low mood and depression
burnout and overwhelm
self-esteem and confidence
identity and life transitions
relationships and interpersonal difficulties
perfectionism and self-criticism
study and work-related stress
performance and audition-related pressure
creative identity and career uncertainty
navigating change, rejection or setbacks
general wellbeing and personal growth
My approach is individualised rather than one-size-fits-all. I draw from different evidence-based psychological approaches depending on your needs and goals, with a particular interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and developing psychological flexibility.
You don't need to have a diagnosed mental health condition to seek psychological support. Sometimes you may simply feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure about what is going on, and want some support to work through it.

Psychological assessment can help you develop a clearer understanding of how you think, learn, communicate and navigate everyday life.
I provide assessment services for concerns including ADHD, autism and other cognitive, learning and developmental presentations, where appropriate.
Assessment may be helpful if you have noticed patterns or difficulties that have been present for a long time but have never quite made sense, or if you are seeking greater understanding of your strengths and areas of difficulty.
Depending on the reason for assessment, this may involve exploring areas such as:
attention and concentration
executive functioning and organisation
learning and cognitive abilities
communication
sensory experiences
social experiences
study and training
work and everyday functioning
For people working or studying in the arts, assessment can also help explore how these experiences may interact with the demands of intensive training, rehearsals, performances, production environments or creative work.
The assessment process is individualised and will depend on your referral question and the type of assessment being considered. If you're unsure whether assessment might be appropriate for you, you're welcome to get in touch to discuss your circumstances before booking.

Psychological support doesn't always have to take the form of individual therapy.
I am also interested in working with arts organisations, educational settings, creative teams, production companies and other groups to support broader psychological wellbeing.
This may include:
wellbeing workshops and psychoeducation
mental health and wellbeing education
workshops for performers or performing arts students
supporting psychological wellbeing within creative teams
consultation around wellbeing and psychologically healthy environments
tailored sessions for arts organisations, productions or educational programs
These services can be developed around the needs of your organisation, group or community rather than following a one-size-fits-all program.
If you're interested in a workshop, group session, consultation or another form of wellbeing support, please get in touch to discuss what you're looking for. We can talk through your needs, the intended audience and what type of support might be appropriate.

I understand that accessing psychological support can be difficult when you're studying, particularly when you're balancing tuition, training, rehearsals, assessments, work and the financial realities of being a student.
I am committed to making psychological support as accessible as possible for students and people in the early stages of their careers.
Reduced fees may be available for eligible students, including full-time performing arts conservatoire students, depending on individual circumstances and availability.
If cost is a barrier to accessing support, please don't hesitate to ask about the possibility of a reduced student fee when you enquire. You do not need to provide extensive personal information to ask about fees.

Psychological counselling
$200 per 50-minute session
Mental Health Care Plans are accepted. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan and are eligible for a Medicare rebate, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate for eligible psychological services. The rebate amount depends on your individual circumstances and current Medicare arrangements.
The $200 consultation fee is payable in full, with any applicable Medicare rebate claimed separately.
Psychological assessment
Assessment fees vary depending on the type and complexity of assessment required. This will be discussed with you before proceeding, and you will be provided with information about the expected costs involved.
Medicare rebates may not apply to assessment services, so this can be discussed with you when enquiring about an assessment.
Workshops & consultation
Fees for workshops, group sessions and organisational consultation are quoted individually depending on the type of service, number of participants, preparation required and length of the session.
Student fees
Reduced fees may be available for eligible students, subject to availability.
If you'd like to discuss fees before making an appointment, you're very welcome to get in touch.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
I understand that life happens and that schedules can change, particularly when you're working or studying in the arts.
I require at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Where less than 24 hours' notice is provided, a $50 cancellation fee may be charged if I am unable to fill your appointment time.
If you do not attend your scheduled appointment and do not provide notice (non-attendance/no-show), the full session fee will apply.
Cancellation fees are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
If there are exceptional circumstances that prevent you from attending or providing adequate notice, please get in touch and we can discuss the situation.
Scope of Practice
Stage & Mind Psychology provides psychological services within my professional training, experience and scope of practice. Knowing the limits of my scope is an important part of providing safe and ethical care and it helps me recognise when a concern, assessment or referral may be outside what I am able to appropriately provide, and when another practitioner or service may be better placed to support you.
These boundaries are there to protect both you and me, and to help ensure that you receive care that is appropriate to your needs. If I believe another service or practitioner would be a better fit, I will discuss this with you and, where appropriate, recommend or refer you to a more suitable service.
Stage & Mind Psychology is not a crisis or emergency service. I do not provide 24-hour support, and email and appointment availability should not be relied upon when you need immediate assistance.
If you are in immediate danger or require urgent medical or emergency assistance, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
For crisis support, you can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
